Watch video, use captions and chapters

Control the walkthrough and jump to the section you need to review.

Before you start

  • Open a guide showing Watch the walkthrough and have a connection to load the video.

Step by step

  1. Press play in the player. Use its controls to pause or seek forward and backward on the timeline.

  2. When captions are available, open the player caption control and choose an available option.

  3. If Video chapters are available, click a chapter title or timestamp. The player seeks to that point and attempts playback.

  4. If the browser does not start after selecting a chapter, press play in the player. Follow the text steps at your own pace.

  5. To change the walkthrough pace, open Playback speed below the video. Choose 0.5× or 0.75× to slow down, or 1.25×, 1.5× or 2× to speed up.

  6. To return to normal speed, choose 1× in the same selector.

  7. With captions enabled in the player, you can also read the Video caption box below the image. It shows the current passage when a caption is available at that moment.

  8. To change the text in that box, select another available caption track in the player controls. To hide it, turn captions off in the player; the box is absent when no caption track is active or no text is available at that moment.

You can review a specific section and follow the walkthrough with available controls.

What you need to know

  • Volume, fullscreen and caption controls depend on the browser and device. Not every video has chapters or every caption option.
  • When available, captions matching the Help Center language are the default option. Opening a guide does not start video automatically.
  • The box below the video follows the active caption track; it is not a full transcript or an automatic translation. Its text changes with playback and clears when the video ends.
  • Playback speed defaults to 1× when the player opens and resets to 1× when the video or Help Center language changes.
