Choose which WhatsApp conversations send notifications
The number’s general notification rule is applied.
Before you start
- Sign in with access to the page and instance. Changes require a role other than read-only.
Step by step
In Instances, open Push notifications using the number’s bell.
Enable notifications for the entire account for chats and groups, or personal conversations only to exclude groups from the general rule.
Disable the general rule to choose individual conversations instead.
Changes save when you toggle the switch.
The two general rules are alternatives. Individually enabled conversations may still notify even when the general rule is off.

The number’s general notification rule is applied.
What you need to know
- Receiving push also depends on device/browser permissions and notification settings.
- Preferences belong to the instance. Changes save when clicked; closing with X, Escape or outside the dialog does not undo prior changes. Reopen to check, because some save failures are not displayed.
