Send an approved template on official WhatsApp

Step by step

   Open the official number's conversation in Chat or Hub; for a new contact, use + and confirm the phone.

   Click Template beside the message field.

   Search the template by name or text. Use Refresh to sync the list if needed.

   Select the template and check its language, category, text and preview buttons.

   Fill all requested variables, check their preview values and click Send template.

What you need to know

• The list shows only approved templates. Quick replies from /templates do not replace Meta-approved templates.
• The official flow opens new numbers without the existence check used for QR connections. The screen advises using an approved template to start contact with someone who has not written yet.
• The selector fills text variables in the header and body. This flow does not offer fields for header media or dynamic button parameters.
• Confirm sending in history and delivery indicators; closing the selector does not prove recipient delivery.
• Close the picker with X to leave without sending.
• Use Back in the preview to choose another template without sending the current one.
